Imagine to mix Gorillaz and the aesthetics of the National Chinese Circus, to fuse a legendary history with a current aesthetics, this is MONKEY, Journey to the west! The new spectacle has arisen from the miscellany between Chen Shi-Zheng, stage manager, Damon Albarn (Gorillaz, Blur ...) musical polyvalent composer and of Jamie Hewlett (creator of the personages of Gorillaz) as designer of wardrobe and animation.

This event is based on a book prohibited by the China Cultural's Revolution , which counts a history of more than 400 years of antiquity on the adventures of Monkey King.
